This includes preparing for various emergencies, such as fires, emergencies exit, natural disasters, or security threats.   4. Requirements for Secure Video Surveillance Data Storage: Establishments must securely store video surveillance data for at least 30 days.   5. Filing returns: Every owner, society, manager, and individual is required to file and upload returns on the prescribed online portal. Returns should be submitted every six months to ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations.
  1. Timeline for the implementation of Public Safety Measures: Every owner, society, manager, and individual operating an establishment is required to implement public safety measures within one year from the date of commencement of the Act or before the next renewal date of their license, whichever occurs first. This provision is designed to ensure that all establishments prioritize the safety of their premises and comply with the regulations established by the Act in a timely manner.

Penalties for Non-Compliance of Safety Measures: If an owner, manager, or individual running an establishment, or society managing a residential building, does not follow the instructions in a show cause notice, they will face the following penalties:

  1. Compounding Fees: The concerned Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), or Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) may levy a compounding fee on the responsible parties as follows:
      • For the First Month of Default: ₹5,000
      • For the Second Month of Default: ₹10,000
  1. Further Non-Compliance: If the owner, manager, or individual continues to fail in complying with the directions within a period of two months, the Inspector of Police with jurisdiction over the area shall take the following action:
      • Temporary Sealing of Premises: The premises may be sealed temporarily.
      • Reporting: A report shall be sent to the concerned licensing authority through the ACP, DSP, or SDPO responsible for the area.

However, Religious institutions or any other places of worship shall not be subject to sealing under this provision.
