These Rules shall apply to the factories: (i) in which hazardous manufacturing processes which involves use, storage and handling of toxic, highly inflammable, explosives, hazardous chemicals where in such toxic or highly inflammable or explosive substances are likely to be generated or given out or carried out, as listed under sub rule (b), (c) and (e) of rule 2 of the Major Accident Hazards Control (Karnataka) Rules 1994; (ii) in which the hazardous manufacturing processes as listed in First Schedule appended to clause (cb) of section 2 of the Act is carried on; (iii) in which manufacturing processes as specified in rule 129 of Karnataka Factories Rules, 1969 read with section 87 of the Act is carried on; and (iv) all other factories licensed to employ more than fifty workers. |
